Introduction

My name is Chris Lang and I have been producing video programs for over ten years.  I have  experience in government and corporate video production and particularly enjoy working with  not-for-profit organizations, particularly those dealing with community development and  healthcare issues, both in the U.S. and abroad. I have a special affinity for sub-saharan Africa  and have shot in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa, Lesotho, and Ghana.

In addition to video work abroad, I have lived in Bolivia and I have traveled to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Japan.    Travel has helped me to refine my ability to adapt to diverse cultures and customs, which in turn leads to comfortable communication with local people....and quality video footage.

Coupled with my travel experience is my knowledge of video production and technology.  I have quite a bit of field experience and can produce high quality images and sound with minimal equipment, which makes for an easily mobile production and cuts down on transportation and housing costs.

        A little background...

I have an undergraduate degree in Communications and an M.S. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  A bit of an idealist, I am essentially a social technophile always on the lookout for a project that may contribute to the greater good.  I am equally comfortable working with equipment as I am experiencing unique situations, cultures, or people.
